Ohio Senate Bill 29
Ohio Senate Bill 29 helps protect student privacy and promotes transparency regarding the technology used in schools. Each year, school districts are required to notify families about the educational technology providers that may create, receive, or maintain student educational records, as well as the circumstances under which school-issued devices may be monitored.

Amherst Exempted Village Schools uses technology to support teaching and learning while maintaining appropriate safeguards for student privacy. In accordance with Ohio law, the district may monitor school-issued devices and accounts in specific situations outlined in the Ohio Revised Code to help ensure student safety, protect district technology resources, and support the educational environment.
