New Student Enrollment begins March 2, 2026

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Welcome to Amherst Exempted Village Schools—we’re so glad you’re here! You’re taking the first step toward becoming part of our Comet family. Below you’ll find everything you need to enroll each of your children. To complete enrollment, the full registration process must be submitted for each student. Enrollment must be completed by a custodial parent or legal guardian, who will provide all required information and signatures. An active email address is required to complete registration and to receive important updates throughout the school year. Please note that a separate registration must be completed for each child you wish to enroll.

We look forward to welcoming your family to Amherst!

Must be 5 years by August 27, 2026 to register for Kindergarten

Please select the appropriate enrollment link to the right to enroll in our school district. If you have any questions about enrollment, please contact the District Registrar, Lisa Overdorff, at (440) 988-1903 or email Lisa.

Open Enrollment

The Amherst Exempted Village School District does not have new open enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year. New students must be residents within the school district boundaries.

Report Non-Resident Students

Students of the Amherst Exempted Village School District must maintain residency in Amherst or be accepted under Open Enrollment. If you know of someone who is not an Amherst resident but continues to send their children to the Amherst Schools, please help us by emailing, calling the Board Office at 440-988-1976, or completing the anonymous online form: Reporting Non-Resident Students Form

Amherst resident taxpayer education dollars are earmarked to serve only Amherst residents. In a continuing effort to provide the best education possible for our residents' children at the most efficient cost, we will continue to audit residency of our students. Your help in this endeavor is appreciated.
