Welcome to Amherst Junior High School. On behalf of the entire faculty and staff I extend our best wishes for a successful school year. We look forward to supporting you in another year of academic growth.
We hope that with clear expectations, a strong instructional program, and the cooperation of you and your family, the year will be an outstanding one. We are proud of you and of the talents you possess, and hope that you will work hard to use them in the best way possible.
The building is open to students at 7:00 a.m. Our school day begins promptly at 7:25 a.m. Car riders and bus riders are dismissed at 2:25 p.m. Office hours are from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Welcome! My name is Andrew Gibson and I am incredibly excited to lead the team at AJH. I am looking forward to working with our remarkable staff to create another innovative and engaging school year for our students, and I am dedicated to providing a nurturing, challenging, and supportive environment for our students and staff.
The first day of school has been postponed by one week. The first day will be Thursday, August 27th in order to give everyone more time to plan. Kindergarten will begin on September 1st and Preschool on Sept 8th.

Second Harvest Food Bank will be distributing FREE boxes of assorted shelf-stable food on Thursday, July 30th at the Amherst Junior High School from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
