New - Senate Bill 252 - Lindsay's Law
In accordance with Senate Bill 252 (Lindsay's Law), the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio High School Athletic Association, the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and other stakeholders jointly developed guidelines and other relevant materials to inform and educate students and youth athletes participating in or desiring to participate in an athletic activity, their parents, and their coaches about the nature and warning signs of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) issued its 2019 state report cards and Amherst earned 'A's in Progress, Gap Closing, and Graduation! Amherst is also among the 20% of Ohio districts with the lowest operating expenses!
Marion L. Steele senior, Ethan Molnar, qualified as a semifinalist in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Competition. Ethan was one of only 14 seniors in Lorain County and 16,000 nationwide to receive the honor!
The Marion L. Steele Student Council and Comet Alumni Association are hosting the 2019 Amherst Distinguished Alumni Gallery of Success on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. in the Steele Cafetorium.
On conference night, Thursday, September 19th, a College Planning Information Session will be presented in the Steele CLC from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. All parents and students are encouraged to attend!
