Dean of Students Message - Nicholas Doehr
It’s my privilege to serve as the Dean of Students at Walter G. Nord School! I’m especially proud to work with the students, families, and staff in my home community of Amherst.
I grew up in the Wellington Schools and attended Bowling Green State University where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education. I earned a Master of Arts degree in Education at The University of Findlay where I focused on Educational Leadership and obtained my school principal licensure.
I began my teaching career in 2014 as an Intervention Specialist with Fremont City Schools in Northwest Ohio, serving students at both the elementary and middle school levels. In 2019, I returned to Northeast Ohio and spent the past 3 school years serving as an Intervention Specialist and most recently an Administrative Intern with Berea City Schools. My teaching and administrative experiences range from Kindergarten to 8th Grade.
The 2022-2023 school year will be my first with the Amherst Exempted Village School District. I’m passionate about building positive relationships with all stakeholders and working together to create a learning environment that gives all students the opportunity to succeed.
My chocolate Lab, Jake, and I live in Amherst and enjoy spending time out in the community with family and friends.
Go Comets!
