National Honor Society

The National Honor Society is a nationwide organization for high school students in the United States and outlying territories, which consists of many chapters in high schools. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

In October, Juniors and seniors having a GPA of 3.5 or higher will receive an email with a link to an online application. In the application, students will be asked to provide information about their extracurricular, service and leadership activities. Applicants will also write a short essay outlining their service experiences. Applicants will also select two teachers who can recommend them based on their character. The committee will contact those teachers for their response.

All candidates who apply for NHS should have participated in events that provide service. Service should involve helping others. Volunteer work through organizations such as church, Leo Club, Boy/Girl Scouts, or any other organization are acceptable forms of service. Service does not include any work for which a student was paid or was required to do for another organization, such as sports camps or fundraising activities. Students who have not participated in any service during high school should not apply. Contact Mrs. Kremer and Mrs. Durdak.

Snow Sports Club
