A full list of vendors will be shared in the coming weeks as we finalize participants—but we’re already looking forward to an evening filled with fun, engaging, and educational opportunities for our students and families! 💚💛

🎓✨ Learning Comes to Life in Kindergarten! ✨🎓

Mrs. Annabell’s kindergarten class recently stepped back in time with a hands-on exploration of Colonial towns as part of their CKLA Knowledge curriculum! 🏡

Students discovered the important roles of housebuilders, weavers, and blacksmiths—and even got the chance to make their own butter! 🧈

What a fun and engaging way for our young Comets to experience history and bring their learning to life!

Free Breakfast for All K-12 Amherst Students Starting January 6!

When students return from break on January 6, all K-12 Amherst students will be eligible for a free breakfast. Each meal includes the main entree of the day, 2 fruit choices, and milk.

Breakfast is available using Nutrition Services funds, which are completely separate from the General Fund, ensuring our Comets get a healthy and tasty start to their day.

Please remind your student to know their 6-digit student number to receive breakfast.

From June 1–5, 2026, students entering grades 1–6 can enjoy a week of creativity, STEM challenges, and hands-on fun at Walter G. Nord School from 9:00 AM–3:30 PM.

💡 Cost: $285
💚 Holiday Savings: Register by December 31 and save $30!
👫 Extras: Payment plans and sibling discounts are available. A limited number of scholarships may also open in early 2026 for families needing assistance.

Congratulations to the Powers PBIS Committee & Staff who earned GOLD State Recognition from the Ohio Department of Education for the 2024-2025 school year.

Gold State Recognition from the Ohio Department of Education signifies a highest level of achievement within the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Recognition System. In the PBIS system, a Gold award means a school has demonstrated high fidelity in implementing its behavior support plan.
