These kindergarteners are more than ready for first grade next year! Great job, Comets — and a big shout out to Mrs. Escher for creating such a meaningful experience for her students and families 💚💛

Spring 2026 Academic Awards Schedule
This week, we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week—a time to recognize the incredible educators who shape the hearts, minds, and futures of our students every single day here in Comet Nation 💫

Our teachers do so much more than deliver lessons. They inspire curiosity, build confidence, provide support, and create a sense of belonging for every child who walks through our doors. They stay late, show up early, and give their all to ensure students feel seen, valued, and capable of success.

Strong schools are the foundation of a strong community, and that foundation is built by our dedicated, passionate teachers here in Amherst. Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom—touching families, strengthening neighborhoods, and shaping the future we all share.

This week, we invite our community to join us in celebrating and supporting the educators who make a difference every day. A simple thank you can go a long way. 💚💛

Teacher Appreciation Week

As the May 5 election approaches, many in our community have questions about Amherst Schools’ finances and Issue 1, a 0.75% earned income tax levy on the ballot.

As a public school district, we are committed to providing clear, factual information so residents can make informed decisions. While we cannot advocate for or against the levy, we can share our current financial reality, the reductions already made, and what Issue 1 could mean for our schools.

We’ve created a special edition newsletter to answer the most common questions we’ve received from families, staff, and community members—covering where we are, how we got here, and what lies ahead.

📖 Read the full special edition newsletter here: https://amherstevsoh.edurooms.com/engage/mr-molnar-s-community-update/newsletters/financial-update-issue-1-frequently-asked-questions

Amherst has a proud tradition of strong schools and community support. Thank you for staying informed and engaged.
