🎓🇺🇸 COMET ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT 🇺🇸🎓

We are proud to recognize three members of the Marion L. Steele High School Class of 2026 as they begin their military careers!

🇺🇸 Cadet Abbey Barry earned an Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AROTC) scholarship and is beginning her first year at The Ohio State University.

⚓ Seaman Will Fought graduated from recruit training at Naval Station Great Lakes on August 27 and is currently attending the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command.

⚓ Midshipman Tyler Denn graduated from New Student Indoctrination at Naval Station Great Lakes on July 13. He was officially welcomed as a Midshipman in NROTC at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Congratulations, Abbey, Will and Tyler! We are incredibly proud of you and wish you the very best as you begin these exciting journeys. Once a Comet, always a Comet! 💚💛

📞 District Phone System Upgrade – August 14

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve communication and safety, Amherst Exempted Village Schools will be upgrading our district-wide phone system on Friday, August 14.

Beginning at 7:00 a.m., district phone lines may be unavailable for much or all of the day while the transition takes place. While we hope service is restored sooner, we appreciate your patience as this important upgrade is completed.

The new system will enhance our emergency response capabilities by providing more precise location information to 911 dispatchers if emergency services are ever needed.

📌 Please note:
• District phone numbers will remain the same.
• All district phone service will be restored by Monday, August 17.

Our Nutrition Services Department wants to help make things a little easier for our families as you plan ahead and put money into your child’s school meal account for the 2026–2027 school year!

We hope this School Lunch Budget Planning Guide is helpful as you budget for school lunches throughout the year. 💚💛

📌 Please remember: Breakfast is FREE for all K–12 students, so the prices shown in this guide are for lunch only.

Students enjoyed spending time reading with their special guests while sharing some delicious snacks along the way. It was a wonderful opportunity for our young Comets to show off the incredible progress they’ve made throughout the school year with someone special by their side.

These kindergarteners are more than ready for first grade next year! Great job, Comets — and a big shout out to Mrs. Escher for creating such a meaningful experience for her students and families 💚💛
