As part of our ongoing efforts to improve communication and safety, Amherst Exempted Village Schools will be upgrading our district-wide phone system on Friday, August 14.
Beginning at 7:00 a.m., district phone lines may be unavailable for much or all of the day while the transition takes place. While we hope service is restored sooner, we appreciate your patience as this important upgrade is completed.
The new system will enhance our emergency response capabilities by providing more precise location information to 911 dispatchers if emergency services are ever needed.
📌 Please note:
• District phone numbers will remain the same.
• All district phone service will be restored by Monday, August 17.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we make these important improvements to better serve our students, staff, and community. 💚💛

Our Nutrition Services Department wants to help make things a little easier for our families as you plan ahead and put money into your child’s school meal account for the 2026–2027 school year!

📌 Please remember: Breakfast is FREE for all K–12 students, so the prices shown in this guide are for lunch only.

Students enjoyed spending time reading with their special guests while sharing some delicious snacks along the way. It was a wonderful opportunity for our young Comets to show off the incredible progress they’ve made throughout the school year with someone special by their side.
These kindergarteners are more than ready for first grade next year! Great job, Comets — and a big shout out to Mrs. Escher for creating such a meaningful experience for her students and families 💚💛

If parents, guardians, or approved emergency contacts would like to pick up their student, please report to the front entrance of the school. Staff members and the Amherst Police Department will be outside to assist and direct you through the process.
For students remaining at school, classes, activities, and normal dismissal procedures will resume as scheduled. Bus dismissal will also proceed as normal for students who will be riding the bus home.
We appreciate the cooperation, patience, and support of our families and community throughout today’s situation.

Students will now be dismissed for the day. Student drivers may leave campus at this time. Students who are unable to leave immediately may remain at the school until picked up by a parent, guardian, or approved emergency contact.
Bus routes will run as scheduled at normal dismissal time for students who require transportation home.
Thank you to our students, staff, families, and local emergency personnel for their patience, cooperation, and support throughout today’s situation.
